Congrats Festival Teams!
festival Congratulations to all our teams for a great showing at Festival. Two of our teams this year won their divisions which is huge!  17-Roxy went undefeated on day 2 and 4 and did so with a roster of only 7 players. Our 16-Roxy team was the winner of the Challenge Division finishing 39th overall and winning their last 5 matches in a row. Shout out to the 15-Roxy girls for taking home the Conquest Division Trophy and 25th place finish.

Our Summer Beach Volleyball season is just around the corner.  Here is the schedule of Club Beach Events. Our first official beach practice will be Saturday, June 9th, 9am at Zuma Tower 2.  We expect all Achieve players to participate in all practices/events unless they are out of town on vacation.
I will be distributing a partner request form at practice. If you would like help finding a partner please let me know. Players may partner with someone from another club who did not play for an indoor Achieve team.

We will also have sample uniforms available for sizing this week.  Make sure you find the clipboard that is floating around at practice and fill out the partner request form and put your sizes down.

The beach dues for non-club members are $300 for the summer. This includes twice a week trainings and uniform.  We will be fielding boys teams as well. Please spread the word to anyone outside the club who may want to participate. They can contact me if they are interested at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. All players must register themselves for each event at ClubBeachVolleyball.com
Registration is $25/player for each event. Register early to avoid late fees and to ensure entry.

Congratulations to Matt Shubin for making this year's ACVA 30 Under 30 Award List!

"LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is pleased to announce its Thirty Under 30 Awards. This award was created in 2009 to honor thirty of the up-and-coming volleyball coaches under 30 years old in the sport at all levels of the game.

A nomination period was held in the fall, with the requirement that the nominees had to be younger than 30 years old in 2010. The list of winners was announced in the February/March edition of Coaching Volleyball.

"We are very proud of the smart, energetic young people who are choosing to enter our profession," said AVCA Executive Director Kathy DeBoer.

"This second strong class of overachievers means the future is bright for both volleyball players and the AVCA."

Of the thirty recipients, 19 are assistant coaches and 11 are head coaches. Nine are NCAA Division II women's coaches, eight are NCAA Division I women's coaches, three are NCAA Division III women's coaches, three coach NCAA Division I-II men, two are from Two-Year Colleges, two are club coaches and one is a high school girl's coach. Two of the recipients double-up as club coaches.  Four of this year's recipients - Giovana Melo, Kelly Morrisroe, George Mulry and J.T. Wenger - also received the inaugural award a year ago, as they have continued to demonstrate excellence in this profession."
